Be Strong in The Lord

By Barbara J. Scott
To be strong is to be able to move heavy weights or tasks that are physically demanding. It also means to be able to withstand great force or pressure, to be indestructible, secure, and well fortified. Just imagine all this possible in the natural. Now think about being "strong in the Lord"! Wow!!! That means having unlimited strength to do great feats, because God is all powerful, almighty; there is no one greater than He.
Be Strong in The Lord

One of the synonyms for "STRONG" is, "POWERFUL". David realized this when he wrote in Psalm 27:1: "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" David proved what it means to be strong in the Lord when he went out against the giant Goliath, with just five smooth stones and a sling. He let Goliath know that he was coming against him "..in the Name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel". We can move the giants in our lives by going against them in the Name of the Lord, because greater is He who is in us than he that is in this world.  We have all power through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; "The Name of the LORD is a strong tower, the righteous man runs into it and is safe." Proverbs 18:10. David ran towards the enemy, not away from him.  He remembered how the Lord had helped him to defeat the lion and the bear.  We don't have to be afraid and run from the enemy, God is the One Who fights our battles; in Him we can find all the strength we need to stand strong. Has He ever helped you in the past to defeat the enemy?  Well, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He hasn't changed and will never change. He helped you before and He will help you now, no matter what you may be going through; just trust Him. The Word of God says that through Him we shall do valiantly, that He is the One Who teaches our hands to war and our fingers to fight. We have unlimited power in the Mighty Name of the Lord.  Jesus said that whatever we ask the Father in His Name (Jesus) we shall receive.  Stand on your faith as David did, knowing that nothing is impossible with God. God says, "Behold, I Am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27. Our answer should be, "NO, LORD, there is nothing too hard for You!"  "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might." Ephesians 6:10.
