Jesus, Our Savior

Why is it that we celebrate the birth of our Savior only one time during the year? This is an event that we should remember everyday of our lives. God Almighty stepped down from His glory and into the flesh of mankind to deliver us from the slavery of sin. What great love! No one loves us that way.  He could have come as a great king, but He chose to come as a humble little baby boy, the same way all babies are born into the world, through the womb of a woman. And then Jesus lived His life on earth going through all the temptations and the trials, that a male child goes through throughout his life.  Jesus knew what it was like to be a toddler, a young child, a teen, and a young adult.  He is our example in life and we can't say He doesn't understand what we go through.  We will never suffer as He did for us.  He was hated, rejected, bullied, even by His own brothers and sisters, and He did not deserve any of it. Many times we cause our own pain and suffering, but Jesus didn't do that.  This was Emmanuel, "God with us", on His way to the cross, the cross of redemption for all mankind.  There was no turning back for Jesus, He came to die and nothing could have made Him change His mind.  This was the Father's plan to bring us back to Him.  Jesus knowing all things, knew how much He would have to suffer in order to bring us back to the Father, but He was willing to do the Father's will.  He said, "Nevertheless, not what I will, but what Thou wilt." Mark 14:37. It was indeed a long journey for Jesus, but He pulled His strength from the Father as He continuously stayed in contact with Him through prayer.  Whatever Jesus did, He was doing only what the Father told Him to do. As we go through this journey of life, we too must keep in constant contact with the Father, pulling our strength from Him.  "He is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

There is nothing the Father will not do to get us through every tunnel, over every mountain, through every valley in life to make it to the other side. He wants us to reach the finish line.  And with Him on our side, we will win, we will make it "home".  We must keep our eyes lifted up unto the hills where our help comes from; knowing that we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us.  Jesus made it to the from the cradle to the cross, and now the ball is in our court. Don't drop it, stay in the game and keep running to the end. "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and Am set down with My Father in His throne." Revelation 3:21.
