A Message of Forgiveness (Part 2)

By Barbara J. Scott
In spite of the fact that we all have sinned, He still loves us: and we still sin, every day; by thought, word, look, deed, or feeling. We are not perfect, therefore we never live a day without sinning against our Father. We may not even realize that we have sinned; but He remembers that we are "dust"; and He "pities us"; because we are His children.
A Message of Forgiveness (Part 2)

The great Evangelist, Billy Graham, preached one message for years, all over the world. And because he preached the same simple message, thousands of souls have come to Christ and have been saved.  He preached John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  He preached the love and forgiveness of our Father, and this message written to us by the Father will never change.  He loves us unconditionally, and in order to receive His forgiveness, we have to acknowledge that we need it.   In our Father's Message, it says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Do you recognize your Father's handwriting?  Have you seen His handwriting before?  This is what He wrote: "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3. He will never cast us aside or disown us: but He forgives, over and over and over again.  Our Father proved how much He loves us and forgives us by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die on Calvary.  That is why Jesus cried out from the cross, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." Is there anyone in your life that you just truly haven't forgiven?  We say forgiveness is a process, but it really isn't.  The process is the purifying of our own heart to act in obedience to the will of the Father.  Jesus never taught that forgiveness is a process.  It's an act of our will to be willing to forgive.

Have you read the note?  Do you recognize your Father's handwriting?  This Christmas Season we remember what our Father wrote:  it is a simple message, "All is forgiven. Love, Dad" The message has been written to all of us and all we have to do is receive it from our Father.  This is the true meaning of Christmas, --a message of forgiveness.  This is the greatest gift that we could ever receive; and this gift is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Receive it today!
