"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.
Do we feel this way about every day that God has chosen to awaken us and give us life? We all have or have had days when we wish we could just cover our heads and let it pass. But God has a plan and purpose for each day of our lives. He wakes us up so that we can invite Him in with His new mercies and grace for the day. David prayed to God, "Cause me to hear Thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in Thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee." Psalm 143:8.
When you really think about it, life is very short. Look how fast our children grow up and are gone away from home. You look back and wonder where did the time go. Some people don't want to acknowledge their birthday each year because it reminds them that time is passing by. Yes, time is passing by and we should cherish each moment we have on this earth: each moment we have with our families; each moment we are able to make a difference in someone's life; each moment we have to give God glory and praise, the One Who gives us life, health and strength. When God gives you another day, be thankful and ask Him what does He want you to do this day; what plans does He has for you? It is His day, He made it but He didn't feel it to be complete without you and me. What an amazing God we serve! Don't take your time for granted, each moment is strategically planned by God. Live in the moment of time that you have right now. "LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am." Psalm 39:4. Don't waste the precious moments with meaningless things in this life. Take time to smell the roses, and be thankful for the dawning of a brand new day. This is the day that God has given you to trust Him, lean on Him, seek Him, and depend on Him to get you through, no matter what storms may come your way. Cherish the moments when you can feel Him very close to you. "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Psalm 90:12. Time is passing by.
