Indescribably Delicious

By Barbara J. Scott
Have you ever tasted something that was so good you just wanted to share it with someone else. Perhaps it was at a restaurant or maybe something you cooked yourself. You tasted it and said, "Wow! This is so good, (so and so) has got to taste this!" You just didn't want to keep that goodness to yourself and not share it.
Indescribably Delicious

Have you ever tasted something that was so good you just wanted to share it with someone else. Perhaps it was at a restaurant or maybe something you cooked yourself.  You tasted it and said, "Wow! This is so good, (so and so) has got to taste this!"  You just didn't want to keep that goodness to yourself and not share it.  But you had to first taste it yourself before you could even try to tell someone how good it was. So many times we won't even try to taste something that is new to us or we think won't taste good. But how will you know whether you will like it or not if you don't taste it for yourself.

It's hard to imagine that a person can be indescribably delicious, but that is exactly what Jesus is.  The Word of God says, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him." Psalm 34:8. Jesus said, "I Am the Bread of Life. I Am the living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this Bread he shall live forever: and the Bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." John 6:48 & 51.  Now you know, that must be some really good tasting Bread!!! Remember the woman at the well, when Jesus asked her to give Him water to drink?  Then He told her, "…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."  (Read John 4:4-26).

So how do we taste Jesus, how do we eat and drink Him?  Jesus is the Word made flesh; and when we feast on the Word, reading and studying the Bible; and applying it to our life, we are tasting of Jesus. This is the way we really get to know Who He is, and we will find that He is extraordinary, unexplainable, miraculous, and very, very good! He has all the right ingredients instilled in Him and when we partake of Him those ingredients become a part of us, just as our natural food become a part of us: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:" Galatians 5:22-23.

If you haven't already, may I encourage you to, "taste and see that the LORD is good", and then share Him with someone else.  You will find Him to be indescribably delicious!!!
