Magnify the Lord

By Barbara J. Scott
There is no other name under the heaven given among men that can save us; only Jesus. He saves us from sin and every other giant that would come against us when we magnify Him and see Him bigger in every situation.
Magnify the Lord

"I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me; and let us exalt His Name together." Psalm 34:1-3.

To magnify something means to make it bigger in our sight, we see it many times bigger than without the magnifying glass. The Word of God says to magnify the Lord. Whenever David was in trouble, he magnified the Lord, and then the praises would come forth. When he went before Goliath, He went "in the Name of the Lord". Even though Goliath was over nine feet tall, David saw God much bigger than that giant and he approached him "in the Name of the Lord". There is no other name under the heaven given among men that can save us; only Jesus. He saves us from sin and every other giant that would come against us when we magnify Him and see Him bigger in every situation. When Moses sent the twelve spies into the promised land for Israel, ten came back terribly afraid because the men were giants. They said, "we are grasshoppers compared to them." Don't you know that when you see yourself as a grasshopper, your enemy with see you like that too? Only two of the spies remembered how God had delivered them many times before, and trusted that He would do the same in that situation. Elisha was surrounded by armies ready to take him out. The young servant with him was afraid of that great mass, but Elisha was not intimidated by what he could see with his natural eye. He prayed and asked God to open the young man's eyes so that he would see with his spiritual eyes. "Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." 2 Kings 6:17 NIV. Elisha magnified the Lord and saw that there were more with him than those who were against him. God is always greater! We serve a great big wonderful God!

You know how some children like to brag on their dad, they boast about how big he is and what he can do better than anyone else's dad. They magnify him and that is how they see him. We have to stop putting our Daddy, "Abba, Father", in a box and see Him as great as He is. "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father". Romans 8:15. He is the God of all flesh and there is nothing too hard for Him. Whether your giant is spiritual, physical, mental, or financial, our Daddy is rich in every way; He is the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills, and all the silver and gold belong to Him. He is rich in houses and land, He holds the wealth of the world in His hand. "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19. "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." Therefore, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13. Got any rivers you need to cross; He opened the Red Sea. Got any mountains you cannot climb or tunnel through, He made the mountains.

In every situation and circumstance in life, boast on our Daddy and magnify Him; the Great God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. There is no one Greater!!! He specialized in the things we think are impossible. "Thine O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine: Thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and Thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of Thee, and Thou reignest over all; and in Thine hand is power and might; and in Thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all." 1 Chronicles 29:11-12.
