Make Every Day A Masterpiece

Make Every Day A Masterpiece

Are we truly thankful to God for every day that He give us?  Do we live every day as though it is our last day on earth?  What if a doctor diagnosed you with some dreaded terminal disease and told you that you had a very limited time to live; how would you live your life from that time forward?  Would you change what you usually do each day; would you change your attitude about some things?  God gives us new mercies each day.   He allows us to wake up and live a new day just to glorify Him.  Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, but let tomorrow take care of itself.  We need to learn to live like we are dying. Paul says, "I die daily".  We need to live each day with a constant dying to self.  Don't take people and things for granted.  When is the last time you told someone that you love them?.. your husband, your children, your sister, your brother?  Do you go to work each day dreading your job, just wishing for the day you can retire?  God wants you to live for the moment, enjoying the moment you are in right now.  In other words, be where you are; live in the place where you are at this present time.  Can you focus on what you are doing right now without thinking about where you should be one hour from now; or even five minutes from now?  We rush through one part of our day to get to the next part.  We rush through breakfast so that we can plan for lunch time.  We rush through lunch time so that we can start preparing dinner.  We rush through dinner so that we can relax before bedtime. We rush through one day to get to the next.  We don't take time to see and hear what is around us because we are so busy rushing to the next thing.  We sit in traffic complaining about not being able to rush through it.  We need to take the time to see the people around us sitting in the traffic and take a moment to say a prayer for them.  God has you in that place at that time as a part of His plan for you on that particular day.  Psalm 37:23 says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD."  He had you right there when that accident happened so that you could pray.  Think about it, if you hadn't been a little slower than usual, you would have missed the opportunity.  Accentuate the positive!  See something good in everything.  During the creation, over and over again, God said, "That's good".  We need to see things through the eyes of God.

The time that we have is but a fleeting moment.  "For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night."  Psalm 90:4.  Verse 12 says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom".  The next day, the next moment isn't promised to us.  This is the only chance you have to live this day.  Let the light of Jesus shine through you this day.  Give someone their flowers today, while they can smell them.  "And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us." Psalm 90:17. Take the part of the day that God has given you, and live it to the fullest, for His glory.  Smell the flowers, listen to the birds sing.  Make yourself totally available to Him, without your own agenda.  Just give the day back to Him, along with yourself, so that His kingdom may come and His will be done, to the glory and praise of His holy Name.  Make today a "Masterpiece", because it was truly made by the Master.  "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24.
